As warned last week, if you couldn't be bothered to post an introductory post, you have now been removed from this community. I don't like to impose a lot of rules, but I think it's a pretty simple requirement that if you want to be here, you simply let us know who you are. So anyways, if you want to rejoin, you can have a second chance, but you need to follow the simple rules if you do.

Of course, I encourage everyone else to keep posting stuff, but you don't have to. ;-)

You're being a fascist.

How is that fascist? I simply ask that if you want to be here, you're free to be, but please introduce yourself within a reasonable amount of time - is that too much to ask? It's stated quite clearly on the community info page which one should read before joining.

When this community was first created, it was completely open, but that led to a huge flamewar of attacks in the first post. That is not what this community is for so the measures are in place to prevent it.

Reasonable to who? Why is not compulsorily introducing oneself a deleteable offense? If I was a troll that would be one thing but I'm not and you know that!
It's all well and good to set down guidelines for a community, quite another to try to control what goes on it with an iron fist. Shades of Potassium dude. Take a look at your actions.

Yes, I do know that you're not a troll, but if I don't enforce the same requirements for everyone, then I'm being a hypocrite. And if guidelines aren't enforced, then what's the point of having them? As it were I gave substantial time, and then gave a warning with plenty of notice, and then waited an extra day, and then offered another chance. So I don't really think that equates to an iron fist.

Because of the incidents that happened upon first opening this community, I'm a slight bit paranoid, and just want to have some idea of who I'm talking to here. But the requirement isn't about me - it's about all in the community. If I want to know a small bit about each person here, probably many others do too. Yes, I know you, and Spydr knows you, but nobody else does. The asking for an introductory post isn't just to serve some selfishness of mine, it's meant to be a benefit for the entire community.

It's just like if I were living in a situation with some other people, and you needed a place to crash - I'd make every effort to introduce you to each person there, so that nobody wakes up wondering "who the hell is that?!?"

That all being said, I do not intend to dictate everything that goes on here - as far as I'm concerned everyone here has an equal say in how this community operates. Maybe the requirement to introduce oneself is a bit much, and the requirement for non-attacking behavior is sufficient. I'm open to discussion on that. But please do try to understand my perspective here without accusing me of being another Potassium.

Perhaps I did fire off at the mouth a bit there. Still, your actions did seem a bit tyrannical. I have never heard of being deleted from an online community for not introducing yourself.
A request for people to introduce themselves makes all the sense in the world, but an or-else requirement for them to do so, is unnecessary and puts people off.
All other lj communities I know of simply have a troll-this-community-get-deleted policy and that seems to work well enough.

Probably checked the wrong box by accident. Sorry for that, and thanks for returning. :)
